Farewell SBCC Students
Come back and visit us next year!
It’s a bittersweet time of the year. Finals are over and you’ve moved out of Tropicana Gardens… You may be wondering… where did the year go?! When you look back at your 2016-2017 year at SBCC and Trop, you’re sure to see growth, both personally and academically.

We hope that Tropicana contributed to you having your best college year and that you leave here with great friends and lifelong memories! Remember some of the best moments we’ve had together by watching the end-of-the year video on YouTube (below). If you enjoyed your stay with us, we’d appreciate a recommendation to friends and family coming to SBCC next year.

Event Round Up
End the Year at the Pier

What better way to end an amazing year that eating Froyo and taking pictures by at the pier? Tropsters took a study break to go down to the Goleta pier to watch the sun set, talk about summer plans, and reminisce on an amazing year of college!
Dog Therapy

Tropicana Gardens received a special visit from therapy dog, Maddie! Maddie loved meeting all of the residents and she even showed off a couple of her tricks. It was a great de-stressor right before Finals Week.
Hiwi Kiwi

Those in search of a culinary adventure were able to experience a little taste of Hawaiian culture by having some delicious Poke bowls, Spam Musubi, Mochi Dougnuts, and Kalua Pork Sliders!
Frequently Asked Questions After Move-Out
Q: When will I get my security deposit back?
Your security deposit check will be mailed to the address you confirmed at check-out within 21 days from your contract end date. The $50 cleaning fee, plus any additional charges for damages, will be taken out of your $350 security deposit.
Q: I forgot my bike! Is it still there?
A: Your bike and the bike rack may have been moved to prepare for our summer camps, so please stop by the front desk.
Q: How long will you forward my mail?
A: We will forward your first-class mail for 60 days. Be sure to change your address with your bank, school, magazine subscriptions, Amazon or eBay or any other mail you want to be sure not to miss. You may also change your address directly with the post office at https://www.usps.com/manage/forward.htm

Summer Housing Options
Staying over Summer for school or work?
Stay with Trop this summer! Our summer contract offers accommodations in a Double or Triple occupancy room at one of our three communities, all utilities (including basic cable and internet) and program events with our
Res Life team. Meals are available whenever the Café is open and can be purchased by selecting the unlimited meal plan, or by purchasing a 10-meal or 20-meal punch card or you can pay as you go.

Summer contract rates are $40.00 per night for Triple occupancy, $60.00 per night for Double occupancy and $90 per night for single occupancy with a 7-night minimum. If you stay less than 30 days, a 12% occupancy tax will be charged. If you stay 30 days or longer, you will receive a 5% discount. If you stay 60 days or longer, you will receive a 15% discount.
A $350.00 security deposit is required of which $50.00 is applied towards cleaning after your stay and $300.00 is refundable.

A Tropicana Student Organization fee is required at the rate of $1.00 per day.
