Quad Wars!

Round 2 of the biggest battles of the year! Trop residents from all communities squared off for the second time; some for redemption, some to protect their honor... but all with the same goal: have fun and represent their Quad spirit!
Pre Quad Wars Rally
Quad Wars festivities kicked off with free t-shirts and tank tops, face painting, the national anthem, performed by the UCSB A capella group, Ravaani!
Dodgeball
St. Lucia dodged, ducked, dipped, dived, and dodged to victory during the first event of Quad Wars! The Stallions followed close behind, taking second in the event.
Minute to Win It
The Blue Jays flew away with the win in this diverse event! Each in under a minute, they dove for jelly beans, threw ping pong balls onto toast, ate Oreo's, and dominated the cotton ball challenge.
Tug of War
The Quad Wars crew traveled to the Tropicana Villas to compete in this classic event. The Villas Swans defended their turf and proved that they were the strongest!
Pool Joust
Last but not least, the teams competed in the Pool Joust. The Del Norte Stallions came out on top by swinging their competitors off of the beam!
Cal Poly Game at the Thunderdome
The teams took an intermission the day of Quad Wars to watch the UCSB Men's basketball team face off against their rivals, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. They were no match for the Gauchos! UCSB won 64-56.
Taste of IV
Crushcakes, Pizza My Heart, and Freebirds were enjoyed by all on the Sundeck at Tropicana Gardens. In the end the Villas Swans were crowned the victors of Quad Wars 2015. It was a perfect way to end the eventful day!
QUAD WARS Instagram Contest
Get Ready for ROUND 2!
Thank you everyone who participated in our first ever Social Media contest! There were tons of Tropicana residents who submitted there photos and videos to us!

The winner of this competition and the $50 Amazon Gift card goes to Tropicana Gardens resident, Manpreet F.!

The Warm Up
Spring Concert -  Saturday, April 4th, 2015

The Warm Up will be an all-encompassing package of arts and live music for UCSB students to find alternatives to the hectic-ness of "Deltopia". This is a collaborative effort by many different UCSB organizations to provide as many opportunities, activities, and alternatives for students as possible. Expect a show like you've never experienced before in the Thunderdome.
Water Conservation
Conservation is Critical to Extending Santa Barbara County's Water Supply
On September 9, 2014 the Goleta Water District Board of Directors declared a Stage II Water Shortage Emergency and established mandatory water restrictions caused by drought. This is in addition to the Stage I Water Emergency declared by California's Governor on January 14th, 2014.

Coinciding with the State's and the County's efforts, we ask you to please be mindful of your water usage. We appreciate your personal efforts in helping our community reduce our water use as a whole.

To find out more about the current water conservation efforts in Santa Barbara county, or to learn more about how you can do your part to conserve water, click on the link to Goleta Water District's article on water conservation: http://www.goletawater.com/home/featured-story/stage-ii-water-shortage-emergency-december-2014-update/

Testimonials

  • In addition to all the fun I had living at the Villas, something that I also think is important no matter where I live is customer service, and the relationship a tenant has with the property manager. Whenever I had a problem with anything, like the water not running right, or being locked out, there was always someone around or someone I could call to help me out, and they were always fast about it, which I really appreciated. Overall, living at the Villas was an awesome experience.

  • We really had a welcoming, community feeling to our building which made it that much better to come back to every day after class or work. The Villas at Tropicana has really felt like a home to me and I can't wait to come back for another year.

  • I loved spending my senior year at UCSB in a nice apartment that was in Isla Vista but wasn't submersed in the party atmosphere.
