Halloween is Coming
Tropicana Villas Limited Guest Policy
Isla Vista is an exciting place during Halloween; your CAs can't wait to see everyone all dressed up! Tropicana will have lots of activities and events to help you enjoy this fun season, ranging from pumpkin carving to door decorating to costume contests.

At the request of UCSB/SBCC and the Isla Vista community (Police, I.V. Foot Patrol, etc.), Tropicana Villas has instituted a "Limited Guest Policy" during the week of Halloween beginning Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. and extends through Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 8:00 a.m.

Non-residents will be permitted access to Tropicana Villas with prior approval. With prior consent from apartment-mates, each resident will be allowed one guest per night, who can be signed in that night. Residents are responsible for their guest's behavior, and will be held accountable for all incidents that occur while the guest is on the premises.

Halloween is Isla Vista's biggest phenomenon of the year, often drawing crowds of 20,000-40,000 people from all over California and neighboring states, requiring approximately 300 law enforcement and personnel to be on duty at a cost of more than $700,000. Last year, there were 225 arrests; 249 citations; 48 medical situations, and 20 search and rescue calls. Most problems are created by out-of-towners, so we want to keep your home at Tropicana a haven from the events in IV.

Have a fun and safe Halloween. Be sure to carry your I.D. with you to gain entrance when you return home to Trop.

Testimonials

  • In addition to all the fun I had living at the Villas, something that I also think is important no matter where I live is customer service, and the relationship a tenant has with the property manager. Whenever I had a problem with anything, like the water not running right, or being locked out, there was always someone around or someone I could call to help me out, and they were always fast about it, which I really appreciated. Overall, living at the Villas was an awesome experience.

  • We really had a welcoming, community feeling to our building which made it that much better to come back to every day after class or work. The Villas at Tropicana has really felt like a home to me and I can't wait to come back for another year.

  • I loved spending my senior year at UCSB in a nice apartment that was in Isla Vista but wasn't submersed in the party atmosphere.
